Water and livelihoods
We work with surrounding communities and landowners to promote conservation and improve local livelihoods.
Water
Water accessibility remains a significant challenge for surrounding communities. Oletukat has repaired and fenced a nearby primary school dam and is exploring partnerships to improve access to clean water for schools and households.
Jobs and school support
Conservancy operations, livestock activities and infrastructure development provide more than 25 local jobs.
We also assist with water infrastructure and electricity-related services at a school.
Living alongside wildlife
Landowner meetings, outreach and coexistence initiatives strengthen relationships between people, livestock and wildlife.
Looking ahead
Our longer-term community agenda includes skills development, youth- and women-led enterprises, livestock improvement, and employment linked to restoration and tourism.
Community development partners
Education, clean water and livelihood opportunities are priority areas for support.
