Education and scholarships
In the neighboring village, the cost of education is a real challenge for many families. In many cases children do not go to school because their parents cannot pay the fees.
Scholarships
We provide scholarships for vulnerable students and support early childhood development.
We sponsor children in primary and secondary school. The need in Oletukat alone is much greater than the number we can afford, and we invite people interested in education to join us in this effort.
A commitment over several years
Sponsoring a child is an important commitment, and it must be done over several years to really have an impact. We follow up regularly with teachers and school headmasters.
A small tuition program
We have started a small tuition program for about 20 children aged 5 to 7 from the immediate neighborhood. We give them lunch, and we work on their Swahili, reading, writing and basic numbers. It seems to have a positive impact and could be developed further, without competing with the school itself.
